the horror of loss...found?!

  It's Halloween and I have a deadline so I'll make this quick!

Since it is the Hallow-day there's lots of good horror on and I'm watching with my side-eye my second favorite Polanski movie, The Fearless Vampire Killers. I was reminded of how much I liked Fearless when I first saw it at BAM (during the wonderful Bela Lugosi's Dead screenings) which was surprising to me.  I wrote a little about it in my 70's Horror Blog which vanished with warnings when Posterous left the blogosphere 3 or 4 years ago. Well, like various vampires and other undead, it seems that my blog has come back in the form of an unattractive archive filled, or should I say plagued--as are all of my blogs--with broken Youtube clip links. But it's alive, Alive! My task now is to learn how to reconstitute the corpse--and not lose it anew. So submitted for your approval (and my back up) Ina's 70's Horror Archive.

My brother, Raymond, who I mention in the post died suddenly and tragically this past July as I was in the midst of preparing to depart for the west coast.  It's too sad to revisit the film right now. I want to think about the funny and evocative ways he would describe this film and others he loved complete with impersonations, reaction shots and commentary. But I cannot. I hope to soon because it was a real joy.)
