Oof! Didn't save and lost the longer post so I'll just put this here for the moment and try not to cry:
Here's pretty , 2-strip, operatic-tenor cowboy (and CIA operative?) John Boles singing:
The Song of the Dawn in "King of Jazz" (1930).
(Check out the striking moving camera mixing a huge closeup with the crowded overhead shots.
And I love it when Boles strides towards the camera and his voice gets closer and louder. Very sophisticated for the time!!)
And what a sky!
